Alain Cogan is a Toronto-based real estate developer, entrepreneur, and finance professional. He is the Founder, Principal, and President of Oikoi Living, a residential development company focused exclusively on purpose-built rental housing in the City of Toronto.
Through Oikoi Living, Cogan oversees the acquisition, financing, planning, and development of residential projects ranging from gentle-density infill housing to large-scale rental towers. The company currently has six active projects representing more than 1,700 residential units and is involved in developments at various stages of construction, planning, and approvals.

Cogan’s professional background spans finance, entrepreneurship, and real estate development. Before founding Oikoi Living, he established Cogan Financial Capital Group Ltd., a financial services firm specializing in wealth management, estate planning, and estate preservation. His experience in finance continues to influence his approach to development, particularly in project financing, capital structuring, and long-term asset ownership.

His work is driven by the belief that Toronto faces a long-term shortage of rental housing and that increasing supply requires projects that can be financed, approved, and built within today’s market realities. Through Oikoi Living, he has focused on expanding Toronto’s supply of purpose-built rental housing across a range of project types and scales.
